This is my first attempt at making a mini album on my own. It's actually an insert for a mini album, but I'm using it as a mini album by itself.
At the beginning of the summer I took a class on how to make a Vertical Paper Bag Mini Album. It was a 12 hour class that wound up lasting almost 14 hours, but was well worth the time and investment. Since then I have watched several tutorials on other mini album styles and chose this style for making the first one.
An ocean and nautical theme is what I decided on for this project since I already had a 6" x 6" pad of the Prima Seashore collection - gorgeous paper and one of my favorite summer themes. The back cover of the album is 6 1/4" H x 6 1/4" W with the front cover and inside pages varying slightly from that. Kraft cardstock from The Paper Studio was used throughout the album.
This is the front cover. The little flap at the top and the piece it tucks behind are made with a Stampin" Up Modern Label punch and acts as the closure for the mini album. All of the edges of paper in the album are sponged with Walnut Stain Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink to give it an antique look. All of the dies throughout the album were cut out of white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. Some gold accents were added using a Sharpie Metallic Gold Fine Point Pen.
This is the inside of the front cover and the first page. There are pockets, tags and fold-out page flaps throughout the album for added space for photo mats. One of the Prima Seashore papers was cut-apart tags and pictures also used throughout the album.
First page with the side flap open showing a pocket with 2 tags and more space for photos or journaling.
The next 2 pages. The page on the right has 2 flaps one that opens up and one that opens down. This shows the top flap closed.
This is the bottom flap that folds down. It has 2 side flaps that open like a gatefold, but they overlap each other.
Here both side flaps on the fold up flap are open. Lots of room for more photos and journaling.
Here is the inside of the bottom flap when it is folded down.
Top flap closed on that page, bottom flap open partially shown in foreground.

Back of side photo mat insert.
Inside of same page with top and bottom flaps open. A pocket with another tag.

The Crafter's Workshop Stencil - Fence Frame Stencil 6" x 6" - sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink to look like a net
I used the tutorial by Angelwings 14100 on YouTube called Mini Insert Tutorial (Previous Insert I Had Made for Donna) as the basis for the layout of this mini album insert.
This was a fun project, although it did take me a couple of days to do. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. I'll be making a few more mini albums. I just haven't decided which style album or what theme yet.
Have a fabulous week.
