Whale Watching - Craft a Scene June Challenge - By the Sea

Craft a Scene's June Challenge theme is By the Sea.  A seaside theme is one of my favorite themes to stamp.   I've been wanting to use a couple of whale stamps I had and this challenge is perfect for them.  This is my second entry for their By the Sea Challenge this month.

The scene is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on GP110 white cardstock using a Stamp-a-ma-Jig to help position the stamps, then colored with Copic markers.  Copic Opaque White was painted on the water for a finishing touch.

Stamps used:
Gray Wolf Graphics:  Breaching Whale, Whale Tail
Our Daily Bread:  Fishing Boat
Stacy Stamps: The East Bank (lighthouse), Sailing Set (gulls)
Gina K Stamps:  By the Sea 1 and 2 (gulls)

Be sure to check all the fabulous entries and designers examples for this month's Craft a Scene Challenge - By the Sea.

Thanks for stopping by.

Seaside Thank You

A thank you card with a summer seaside theme.

A  seaside scene is inset inside a larger seaside scene with the theme continued for the top and bottom borders.

The big lighthouse scene, cattails with boat and the sandpiper by the reeds in the bottom border are all from the Impression Obsession stamp set "Lighthouse".  The inset sailboat scene is all one stamp "Sailboat Bay" by Stampendous.  Sandpipers in the bottom border are from the Stampin' Up! set "Wetlands". The top of the lighthouse in the bottom border and the small seagulls in the top border are from an old Cornish Heritage Farms set.  The large seagull, one of the small seagulls and the rope in the top border are from the Crafty Secrets acrylic stamp set "Seaside".  The "Thank You " sentiment is an old foam stamp I picked up somewhere years ago.

After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on GP110 white cardstock, the scenes were colored with Copic markers.

I am entering this in Craft a Scene's June By the Sea challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.

SCACD - Steampunk Beauty

SCACD has recently  released 15 NEW Digital Images designed by Carmen Medlin for SCACD.  This Steampunk Beauty is just one of them.   There is a bit of something for everyone in this release. Some fantasy, steampunk, wonderland, curiosities and animals to love. You can find just the right image for that creative spark of yours and let your inner artist out to play.

She is colored with Copic markers after printing her out on GP110 cardstock.  A mask was made by printing out another copy of her on copy paper and cutting her out.  The mask was held in place with Post-It Notes while the Tim Holtz layering stencil "Doily" was sponged with Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake Ink for the background.  The mask was removed and this background was then colored with Copic markers V000 and B000.

The corners were punched with Fiskars Corner Circle punch.  They match the lace on her hat and dress.  The edges were distressed with gold pigment ink, then she was matted on dark violet and Bashful Blue cardstock.

The background design paper behind this piece is from the Papermania Madame Payraud paper stack. This was also colored over lightly with B000 and V000 markers and edged with gold ink.  Deep purple lace seam binding and violet ribbon were added for accents along with some metallic imitation brads.  The Memory Box Mini Gears and Gearworks Border (the border gears were cut apart) were colored with Copics as well before adding for as accents.

A finishing touch of Mercury Glass Stickles were added to the lace on her dress and hat after matting everything on a piece of pinstriped metallic gold cardstock.

Be sure to check out all of the new digis as well as this beauty at SCACD.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great week.
