I am entering this piece in Craft a Scene's September Challenge. The theme for this month is "Dusk to Dawn".
This has been a great summer for star gazing. Living in an area surrounded by lots of wilderness and water and few city lights makes the area where I live wonderful for stargazing. In fact, just across the Mackinac Bridge at the tip of Michigan's northern peninsula there is The Headlands International Dark Sky Park. There is a spectacular video of some night skies in northern Michigan on their website.
The man and dog sitting on the rocks seemed to make the perfect pair to be stargazing on a cool summer evening in northern Michigan. The scene was laid out and stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink using a Stamp-a-ma-Jig stamp positioner and Eclipse Masking tape by Judikins. After the ink dried the images and background were colored with Copic markers.
